Consultis becomes one of the first to contract for the full WebPas solution including WorldLink.

   In the same way that IT consultants prefer to work with a staffing company that knows IT, Consultis has developed a strong working relationship with VCG, the developer of WebPas, a staffing software vendor who understands the unique challenges of their staffing business.

   After conducting an extensive search for a software system, Consultis narrowed the field to three vendors. With all the variables involved in IT placement, they needed a system that provided much more than simple candidate and resume tracking. The system had to be robust enough to track, match and place candidates, as well as manage all the complex details of skills tracking and client information, and serve as their web-based front-end. The system that best fulfilled their requirements was WebPas.

  "Many vendors talk about being web-enabled. WebPas was the only web-based one we found that was actually there," says Jenifer Somerlot, Consultis Manager of Corporate Operations. "The others were ramping up to get to that point, but were not close to WebPas in their development process."

   What differentiates WebPas from its competitors is the ability to integrate with a firm's web site through its WorldLink product. This application allows a company to push data directly to recruiters and creates an online community for candidates and clients, encouraging greater interaction and streamlined information.

   The VCG/WebPas team has been working closely with Consultis to implement the complete solution. This system will meet their current staffing needs and grow with their rapidly evolving business model. Because WebPas is a Java application that supports a relational database, it provides greater scalability and flexibility, as well as deeper security.

   Moving to a web-based model has involved a whole new set of business challenges for Consultis. "Because they develop software and understand the staffing industry, VCG can relate to our needs," says Somerlot. "Their experience has been invaluable in our implementation."
